The Georgetown University Alumni Association invites Georgetown University School of Medicine alumni and their families for breakfast with School of Medicine faculty including Ray Mitchell, M.D., dean emeritus for medical education and Medical Alumni Board members.

Registration will take place at the newly renovated Wagner Alumni House on the corner of 36th & O Streets, just one block down from Healy Gates. At registration, you can pick up your name tags, find a weekend program, and stop by the Georgetown School of Medicine Pop-Up Shop to peruse branded spirit gear, accessories, and keepsakes.

Join us for the 3rd Annual Partners in Research Innovation Showcase. You’ll hear from entrepreneurial scientists from the Georgetown University Medical Center and Georgetown medical students as they share promising advancements through their research on cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, transplantation medicine and more. Afterward, we invite you to attend a reception to meet the researchers and learn more about their work’s potential for positive societal impact.

Alumni are invited to join Jennifer Whitney, Ph.D., Professor and Director of the Special Master’s Program, for a conversation with both current students and SMP alumni about their career journeys in medicine and their time on the Hilltop. This panel discussion is open to all alumni attending Medical Reunion and  current SMP / medical students at Georgetown University. A light reception will immediately follow. Please note that the Preclinical Sciences Building is located next to the Dahlgren Library entrance.

The Hilltop has grown quite a bit since you last visited! Alumni and their families are invited to tour the University’s main campus, including the School of Medicine. Led by current undergraduate and medical students, you will enjoy seeing the many ways that the campus is developing and shaping the experience of current Hoyas. Tours will meet at the Healy Gates and begin on the hour (options:  noon and 1 p.m.). Afterward, make your way to Gaston Hall for the State of the School Address at 3 p.m.

Alumni and their families are invited to Gaston Hall for a discussion led by key School of Medicine leadership, including Norman J. Beauchamp Jr., M.D., MHS, newly appointed executive vice president for health sciences at GUMC and executive dean of the School of Medicine. Explore Georgetown’s vision for the evolving landscape of medicine and medical education, and learn how the university will continue to make a lasting impact.

Celebrate your return to Georgetown by reuniting with classmates and fellow medical alumni as we toast to a fantastic reunion weekend! We invite you to join us for a beautiful cocktail reception at the International Spy Museum with stunning views of the Washington Monument, National History Museum and Smithsonian. We will announce Race for the Cups winners and pay a special tribute to Ray Mitchell, M.D., dean emeritus of the School for Medical Education.

The Georgetown Legacy Society invites you to join us for this complimentary estate planning seminar. The presentation will address critical estate planning topics and discuss important tools and strategies to protect assets, instill family values, achieve charitable objectives, and avoid family conflict.

Speaker details: Sebastian Orozco (L’18) is an associate at McDermott Will & Emery with a focused practice on estate, gift, and income tax planning and compliance. He advises individuals on domestic and international matters, such as tax planning related to foreign trusts and structuring foreign investments. Prior to McDermott, Sebastian served as a judicial law clerk at the US Tax Court. Sebastian earned an LL.M. in Taxation with honors from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Alumni and their families are invited to join us for one of two additional tours of the University’s main campus and Medical Center. Led by current undergraduate and medical students, you will enjoy seeing the many ways that campus is developing and shaping the experience of current Hoyas. Tours will begin and end at the Healy Gates. All tours conclude with enough time to head over to the Healey Family Student Center for a luncheon with current medical students!

Members of the Georgetown University School of Medicine Class of 1974 will be honored as distinguished alumni during the Magis Medal Ceremony in Riggs Library, one of the most treasured locales on campus. This event is reserved for members of the Class of 1974 and their families.

Medical alumni and their families are invited to enjoy a fun and lighthearted luncheon with current medical students in one of the most popular campus spots. The HFSC Great Room boasts a vast and relaxing study space with a view of the Potomac River—and has also served as the venue for our Match Day Celebrations!

Bring your families along to meet current second-, third- and fourth-year medical students and swap stories and experiences from your particular specialty. You may be surprised to hear how many School of Medicine traditions are still cherished by the medical students today!

Established in 2016, the Health Justice Alliance (HJA) is an academic Medical-Legal Partnership (MLP) between Georgetown University Medical Center, Georgetown Law Center, and MedStar Health. MLPs like the Health Justice Alliance bring doctors and lawyers together to address pediatric, cancer, and perinatal patients’ unmet legal needs which contribute to poor health (e.g., substandard housing conditions, insurance and public benefit denials, food insecurity, etc.). The Health Justice Scholars Track is unique to the School of Medicine, animating cura personalis in a profound way for our medical students and faculty, and includes members of our greater community positively who are positively affected by the University’s unwavering commitment to social good.

On this panel, you will hear from young alumni of the Health Justice Scholars Track as they reflect on their MLP experiences serving some of the District’s most vulnerable and marginalized residents. They will share how graduating with distinction in Health Justice is putting Georgetown medical students at the forefront of the national MLP movement dedicated to improving patient care and using law and policy to combat the root causes of social drivers of poor health.

• Eileen S. Moore, M.D., Medical Director, Health Justice Alliance and Associate Professor of Medicine and Family Medicine, and Associate Dean for Community Education and Advocacy at the Georgetown University School of Medicine
• Vicki W. Girard, J.D. (L’87), Co-Founder and Faculty Director, Health Justice Alliance and Professor of Law, Legal Practice at the Georgetown University Law Center
• Robert Hagerty, M.D. (G’16, M’20), Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University Medical Center and Clinician at the Washington Heights Family Health Center in New York City
• Karan Buddala (H’23, M’27), current Georgetown University School of Medicine student

Join fellow medical alumni for a farewell Mass at Dahlgren Chapel in honor of all Georgetown medical alumni and in memory of those who have passed away. A special blessing will be said for the medical alumni community.
