The presentation will address critical estate planning topics and discuss important tools and strategies to protect assets, instill family values, achieve charitable objectives, and avoid family conflict.
Speaker details: Sebastian Orozco (L’18) is an associate at McDermott Will & Emery with a focused practice on estate, gift, and income tax planning and compliance. He advises individuals on domestic and international matters, such as tax planning related to foreign trusts and structuring foreign investments. Prior to McDermott, Sebastian served as a judicial law clerk at the US Tax Court. Sebastian earned an LL.M. in Taxation with honors from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Established in 2016, the Health Justice Alliance (HJA) is an academic Medical-Legal Partnership (MLP) between Georgetown University Medical Center, Georgetown Law Center, and MedStar Health. MLPs like the Health Justice Alliance bring doctors and lawyers together to address pediatric, cancer, and perinatal patients’ unmet legal needs which contribute to poor health (e.g., substandard housing conditions, insurance and public benefit denials, food insecurity, etc.). The Health Justice Scholars Track is unique to the School of Medicine, animating cura personalis in a profound way for our medical students and faculty, and includes members of our greater community positively who are positively affected by the University’s unwavering commitment to social good.
On this panel, you will hear from young alumni of the Health Justice Scholars Track as they reflect on their MLP experiences serving some of the District’s most vulnerable and marginalized residents. They will share how graduating with distinction in Health Justice is putting Georgetown medical students at the forefront of the national MLP movement dedicated to improving patient care and using law and policy to combat the root causes of social drivers of poor health.

- Eileen S. Moore, M.D., Medical Director, Health Justice Alliance and Associate Professor of Medicine and Family Medicine, and Associate Dean for Community Education and Advocacy at the Georgetown University School of Medicine
