Medical Reunion FAQ

  • Do I need to register in advance?

Registration opens in late summer. Advance registration is strongly encouraged, but we understand this is not always possible. Please note there are higher registration prices for some events after specific dates, so register early for the best pricing!

  • Will I be able to cancel my registration if I need to?

There will be a deadline provided for Reunion registration cancellations.

  • Where do I park?

On-campus parking is in high demand during this weekend and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in the Southwest Quad parking garage. Medical Reunion staff are unable to validate parking for attendance at the weekend’s events.

Taxis, Uber, and Lyft are an easy and convenient way to find transportation. We recommend using taxi, Uber/Lyft, and shuttle transportation as much as possible. Taxis, Ubers, and Lyfts can be ordered to the MedDent Building (3900 Reservoir Road), Georgetown University Conference Center (Thomas & Dorothy Leavey Center) or at Healy Gates. Please note that Uber and Lyft will require downloading an application on your phone, while taxis can be reached at various numbers. Here is the number for Yellow Cab Company of DC: 202-544-1212

  • Who can come? Can I bring my family and friends?

You are welcome to bring guests to celebrate with you—including family, friends, and kids! Kid-friendly events will be denoted as “Kid-friendly” in the event schedule.

  • How do I get around campus?

We highly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes for the weekend. Golf carts will be available on campus to assist anyone needing transportation assistance. Campus maps will be provided at Reunion check-in.

  • What should I wear?

Please consult the weather forecast, as winter weather in Washington, DC, can be unpredictable. End of October weather is typically the first winter season signifier, so plan for the estimated temperature to be between 40 and 60 degrees. Temperatures may vary by room and venue, so we recommend that you dress in layers. During the day, events and clothing are casual. Please consult the event schedule for recommended attire.

  • What if I have special needs?

Please let us know about any special needs—including dietary requirements or accessibility needs—when you register by emailing gumcengagement@georgetown.edu or calling 202-687-6673. We will do our best to accommodate your needs with at least seven days notice prior to the weekend.

  • What are resources for childcare?

White House Nannies: Our recommended childcare provider may be able to provide fully screened and agency-qualified caregivers for individual needs during the weekend. To book a caregiver through White House Nannies, call (800) 266-9024 Toll Free088 or email info@whitehousenannies.com and reference Georgetown Reunion Weekend.

Student Employment Office: The Student Employment Office serves as a clearinghouse for students available for babysitting positions, but it is not a direct matching service. To employ childcare services from Georgetown students, go to the student employment website, click on Off-Campus Employers, then click on Post a Job and complete the required information. We recommend that you post your request at least one week in advance. Please call 202-687-4187 for more information.

Personal Referrals: You can also seek recommendations from classmates or organize babysitters for groups.

  • Whom can I contact for more information?

If you have any questions, call us at 202-687-6673 or email gumcengagement@georgetown.edu. Please provide your name, school, class year, and daytime telephone number or email address in your message. Your question will be answered as soon as possible.
