About the Medical Reunion

Hundreds of Hoya medical alumni, family and friends gather annually to reunite for Medical Reunion Weekend. The weekend is a wonderful opportunity for you to reflect on your days as a student while discovering how the medical school has grown since you graduated. All members of the medical Classes of 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2013 and 2018, as well as our Magis alumni (Class of 1972 and before), are invited to return to campus and reconnect with the spirit of cura personalis and your Georgetown Community.

Medical Reunion Weekend will include social activities, educational programs, tours, family events, and plenty of time to reminisce with old and new friends alike. Medical Reunion is a special occasion to come back to Georgetown and renew your connection with classmates and the School of Medicine. We look forward to welcoming you back to where your medical education journey began!

Reunion Giving

One of the most impactful Medical Reunion traditions is the Race for the Cups. Not only does your participation count towards your class giving totals, but your support is essential as we educate a diverse student body dedicated to the care of others and the health needs of our society.

Gifts made to the School of Medicine between July 1 of the year prior to reunion—and gifts made by December 31 of your reunion year—count towards the Race for the Cups competition.

  • Medical Reunion 2023 Race for the Cups

    • Alumni Cup: The Alumni Cup is awarded to the class with the largest reunion gift total.
    • Dean’s Cup: The Dean’s Cup is awarded to the class with the largest percent participation in the class gift.
    • Legacy Cup: The Legacy Cup is awarded to the class with the highest percentage of alumni who are members of the Legacy Society (by making a planned gift)
    • Loyalty Cup: The Loyalty Cup is awarded to the class with the highest percentage of alumni who have given consecutively each year since their last reunion.
    • Reunion Cup: The Reunion Cup is awarded to the class with the highest number of alumni in attendance at reunion.
  • Warwick Evans Society

Named for the first medical graduate of Georgetown University, the Warwick Evans Society is the School of Medicine’s premier annual giving society. This support is the lifeblood of the school and provides the Dean with critical scholarship dollars for the best and brightest medical students.

Membership in the Warwick Evans Society is extended to alumni, parents, and friends who make gifts to Georgetown School of Medicine totaling $1,000 or more each year.

  • Loyalty Society

Loyal donors are the cornerstone of Georgetown’s success, providing the means by which Georgetown can carry out its mission of educating people  in service to others. In recognition of this important commitment, the Loyalty Society honors alumni giving to Georgetown at various levels—from our Charter members, who are just beginning their lifelong commitment to annual giving, to our Lifetime supporters, who have given for 20 or more years. • Legacy Society

The Georgetown Legacy Society was established to recognize alumni and friends who have included a gift for Georgetown in their estate plans. These gifts take many forms including simple bequests by will, gift annuities and charitable trusts. Many of these plans offer substantial financial and tax saving benefits, often complementing an individual’s overall estate plans. All are greatly appreciated and help to ensure the tradition of excellence at Georgetown for future generations.
